Shon Curtis is a portrait and commercial photographer currently based in Dayton, Ohio. His work addresses his curiosity for the human condition and his love for both culture and beautiful lighting. With a background in jazz and the spoken word, he is influenced by the works of John Coltrane and the words of both James Baldwin & Toni Morrison.

His work has been featured in national publications and exhibition. 

By exploring the truth in that moment with each of his subjects, Curtis attempts to identify the vulnerability between photographer and sitter, and how that vulnerability leads to producing an impactful image. His campaign work highlights the story and culture behind various brands in an editorial style. 

No matter what image Curtis attempts to produce, there is a common thread of honesty and purpose that every photo tells.
